Homigot Sunrise
This scenic place, the first place to see the sunrise, is at the eastern extremity of the Korean peninsula. Sa-go Gyeokam Nam, the feng shui scholar during the reign of King Myeongjong of the Joseon dynasty in the 16th century, described this place as the tail of the tiger considering the shape of the national territory and the best and matchless propitious site. Nam-seon Yukdang Choi regarded this place, famous for its beautiful sunrise, as one of the Twelve Scenic Spots of Joseon while depicting the Korean peninsula as the tiger clawing at the maritime province with its forepaw.Mysterious View of the 12 Falls of Naeyeonsan Mountain
Naeyeonsan Mountain, stretching from Songra-myeon to Cheongha-myeon, Jukjang- myeon of Buk-gu, Pohang and Namjeong-myeon of Yeongdeok-gun, and the valley that continues for 8 km, forms 12 falls, swamps, and ponds of various sizes and fantastically shaped cliffs, such as Giwadae, Seonildae, and Haksodae, creating a matchless view.Four Seasons of Oeosa Temple of Unjesan Mountain
The temple was built during the reign of King Jinpyeong, the 26th king of the Silla Dynasty. It was originally called Hangsasa; however, it was renamed Oeosa based on a myth where the Great Priest Wonhyo and the priest Hyegong practiced asceticism in the temple and were challenged to bring two dead fish in the stream back to life using Buddha’s power. In the end, one had one fish brought to life, while the other one could not. Both priests claimed that the live one was the one they brought to life. Yeongildae-Pavilion & Nightscape of POSCO
POSCO plants used light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to display beautiful scenery, expressing the dynamic image of the steelworks filled with energy and light. Also, the furnaces and stack structures are planted to enhance the environment-friendly image. This is the origin of the Osipcheon Stream of Yeongdeok, where Dongdaesan Mountain branched out from the Taebaek Mountain Range and Hyangrobong Valley. Four Seasons of Gyeongsangbuk-do Arboretum
Gyeongsangbuk-do Arboretum, developed in the alpine area on the southern range of Naeyeonsan Mountain 600 m above sea level, is a natural learning space prepared for six years. Pohang Canal
