The temple was built during the reign of King Jinpyeong, the 26th king of the Silla Dynasty. In the end, one had one fish brought to life, while the other one could not. Both priests claimed that the live one was the one they brought to life. The word’s Chinese characters are expressed as oeo, meaning “my fish,” hence the name of the temple Oeasa.
